Lynne Spears has been out in the west coast for several days and has been busy attending business matters. But now, the mother of two pop stars, was seen enjoying a little mother/daughter bonding time with her eldest daughter Britney Spears. And boy, does the pop princess look happy! =) According to a People.com report, the mother and daughter bonded during an overnight visit with Britney Spears’ sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, at her luxurious Studio City home last July 12.

The previous day, the pretty ladies went on a shopping spree at the True Religion warehouse and Pottery Barn before dining out at Bond St. restaurant with two of Britney Spears’ girl friends. A witness told People, “Britney walked in with a big smile and introduced her mom to the staff. She looked gorgeous, and I have never seen her in a better mood. She was laughing the whole time she was here. Britney seemed to have the best time hanging out with her mom and friends.”

We all know when the CBS show got their highest ratings — when the pop princess made a back to back appearance as a ditzy secretary in love with one of the show’s lead characters. Fans and critics lauded Britney Spears efforts, and her co-stars raved about how nice she was to work with. But now, network executives for HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER have slammed reports Britney Spears’ guest role on their show saved it from being canned. In fact, CBS bosses insist it wasn’t the singer who saved the show.

Network entertainment president Nina Tassler explains: “It (How I Met Your Mother) was never in danger; we just took a while to make the announcement (of its renewal).” Britney Spears’ bosses at record label JIVE were rumoured to be questioning her dedication to her comeback album when reports surfaced that the “Gimme More” star was more interested in focusing on her acting career. CBS heads have not yet confirmed Britney Spears will be making another return to the show.

Yup, all is not still well in their battle for their 2 kids. Come this August, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline will be hashing out their custody issues once more. Mark Kaplan, K-Fed’s attorney, told E News that the celebrity pair tried to work out a custody agreement for their sons Sean Preston, 2½, and Jayden James, 1½, out of court last Thursday with the help of a mediator but failed. Mr. Kaplan said, “The mediation didn’t result in an agreement that would avoid the trial set in August.” However, he shared that the tone of the meeting was good and opened “a great dialogue, which is necessary.”

Mark Kaplan also added that Kevin is asking for sole physical and legal custody of the boys, and wants Britney Spears to continue with her current visitation of three days a week. Last week, the pop princess was granted overnight visits with her sons. After the hearing, K-Fed fled to Miami where he partied till nearly dawn. People.com reported, “Kevin was in a great mood and even talked about a new song he is working on, called Daddy’s Home.” Cool or not?? LOL

And her hottest garment?? The shirt that says ‘I Love You Grandma’ which was scrawled by Britney Spears when she wore it while appearing in ‘The New Mickey Mouse Club’ as a child. It also features the signatures of her co-stars, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. Online auctioneers Gotta Have It! owner Ed Kosinski said: “Something like that has never come up for auction before. We expect it to go for between $15,000 and $20,000.” WOW!

Aside from that shirt, other Britney Spears items (provided by Tri Star Sports and Entertainment group on her behalf) include costumes from her ‘Drive Me Crazy’ and ‘Oops, I Did it Again’ tours, a blue and white Santa dress she wore in a Christmas Pepsi ad in 2000 (see pic below), and the orange coat and trousers she wore to the Billboard Music Awards earlier that year. In total, seven items of the pop princess’ clothing are being offered to the public.

Also included in the Rock and Roll Pop Art auction are Marilyn Monroe’s jeans from her film ‘River of No Return’, which had been a gift to Britney Spears from designer Tommy Hilfiger. The jeans are expected to top the predicted bids for Britney’s clothes, and could fetch at least $60,000. There are a further 500 items up for auction, including one of Elvis Presley’s jumpsuits and Madonna’s personal diary from 1987-1988.

According to reports, the “Material Girl” hitmaker has asked the “Toxic” singer to join her onstage at some of her world tour dates. Madonna was also reported to meet up with Britney Spears in New York last Sunday (July 6) to record a video, which will be broadcast on giant screens during her upcoming Sticky and Sweet tour. The said tour is to promote Madonna’s eleventh studio album Hard Candy, and is due to kick off on August 23. A source tells British newspaper The Sun,

“They are recording a video together on Sunday that will provide the backdrop for part of Madonna’s show. And they are talking about Britney Spears taking the stage on a few of the dates too. It’s hoped that Madonna can help the pop princess get back to her old self.”

No word yet if the supposed meeting pushed through. But we certainly it did! Just imagine Madonna and Britney Spears sharing the same stage again! Can we look forward to a repeat of the 2003 MTV Music Awards when they shared a passionate kiss onstage??
