WOW! This is just great! Just read that “How I Met Your Mother” (HIMYM) co-creator Craig Thomas revealed the casting of Britney Spears to play receptionist/comic foil Abby on episode 14 of HIMYM this season. Gotta be thankful to these guys for their trust in the troubled singer. Mr. Thomas says,

“We’re thrilled to have Britney Spears on the show. Britney is an exciting new talent, and we can’t wait for the world to meet her. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to check out this ‘Internet’ thing everyone is talking about.”

And E! Online confirms this bit of news with their report: “The most likely role for Britney Spears in that episode is “Abby,” a girl who works in Ted’s doctor’s office. She’s described as “sweet and friendly and scattered and a little nerdy — a female Michael Cera.” Real cool! I didn’t know Brit has a funny side to her — I mean HIMYM is a comedy show! I’m sure she’ll be cracking some jokes here and there. Can’t wait! =)
