At the ladies-only shower for her younger sister at the Spears family’s Serenity compound, the pop star was empty-handed but promised her sis that a gift was already picked out. Jamie Lynn Spears told OK!, “She [Britney Spears] has a special thing but hasn’t given it to me yet. She won’t tell me what it is, but she said she didn’t want to give it to me that day. I’m really excited to find out what it is.”

Anybody who can guess what is Britney Spears’ gift?? Most likely it will be expensive and possibly pink as Jamie Lynn confirmed to OK! that she’s expecting a girl =) Apparently it was Lynne Spears who arranged the baby shower and she also invited several of her well-heeled Kentwood friends. Jamie shared, “There were mainly people her age so that way they could get me all the important stuff I need. The people my age … got me the cute stuff.”

What the f$#@!?? And who is she to call our favorite singer trashy?? As if she’s not one!! In fairness to Britney Spears, she got married FIRST before getting pregnant! Which is unlike Ashlee Simpson who’s been living-in with her boyfriend for quite awhile and decided to get pregnant so she could pressure him to marry her! So who’s trashy now?? Appearing on the Nokia Green Room with fiance Pete Wentz, Ashlee Simpson recalled fielding a question about “having too many Britney Spears” (yes, the pop icon is a slang term now, lol) –

“In an interview the other day, they asked me what I thought, ‘You’ve had one too many Britney Spears’ means. I was like, ‘What?’ And they said it means you’ve had one too many beers. I was like, ‘Oh, you’ve had one too many trashy girls!”

GAWD!! Then she fell into a fit of giggles and later expressed remorse over the comment. Ashlee Simpson said, “I was like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I just said that! It was really bad. I felt horrible.” You better feel that way gurl coz rabid fans of Britney Spears will soon tear you apart! Muhahaha!

For most people, that’s a helluva lot of money and would certainly put them in debts. But to Britney Spears, it’s just peanuts but it surely dented her massive fortune. A source close to her family told press, “It’s staggering how much money has been used up since February 2007.” Why that specific month? I honestly don’t know, LOL! Anyway, Britney Spears’ monetary hemorrhage started when she lost custody of her two children to Kevin Federline and then she was admitted to a psychiatric ward earlier this year. Both of these led to her having to spend massive amounts of money on legal bills and psychiatric care.

In addition, independent accountant Robert Bianchi has gone on record as saying that she lost out on at least $50 million by failing to properly promote and tour for her “Blackout” album. Although she’s been a spendthrift in the past, now that her father is in control of her finances, things are finally looking positive. A source told press, “It’s been quite a challenge getting things under control. But now she’s spending about a fifth of what she used to.” And according to the tabloids, Britney Spears has a measly $1500 a week allowance!

After her very successful first appearance on the sitcom, the pop star has been welcomed back to reprise her role as clueless receptionist Abby. Britney Spears has just finished filming and this is what she has to say: “I had such a great experience the last time I was on the show that I couldn’t wait to come back. I was really looking forward to working with this cast and crew again.” In her statement, released a day before, she also also added: “Everyone was so nice. Abby is going to have a lot of fun!”

According to US magazine reports, “This time around, Britney Spears’ lovable but ditzy Abby no longer pines for Ted (Josh Radnor). She falls for Barney (Neil Patrick Harris).” If you remember, the actor’s statements about Brit’s first guesting was misunderstood. It’s good that it didn’t mar his relationship with the singer =) CBS also reports: “The ‘couple’ — who don matching V-neck baby blue sweaters — go to the show’s local hangout bar to flaunt their new relationship in Ted’s face.” See photo above!

As reported, Jamie Lynn Spears has thrown a baby shower on Saturday at her parent’s Serenity mansion, in her and big sister Britney Spears’ hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana. It was a family affair Saturday as Jamie was feted with an intimate baby shower. A source revealed, “Jamie Lynn opened every gift. We all sat in a circle and she opened gifts and thanked every person. It was just a good old-fashioned baby shower.” For sure, Britney Spears’ sister won’t be lacking in gifts as she registered for baby stuff in Babies ‘R Us since last March. The source adds that her mom Lynne and fiancé Casey Aldridge’s mother lent a hand in opening the gifts. The presence of the former pop star caused a major security headache.
